Halifax Grain Elevator Limited is the last stepping stone to the east for ships transporting grain via the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Various grains and other bulk materials can be brought down from as far as Duluth and Thunder Bay. Rail lines run from coast to coast and HGEL handles rails cars from all over North America.

Directions
Here are maps to get to HGEL. Two maps are provided for routes via the MacKay Bridge. One using Barrington Street which is the better way for truck traffic. The other uses Robie Street. The third map is for routes via the Bedford Highway. Please read our FAQ page if you are new to HGEL and need information on picking up a load of grain. We operate 24/7 with our automated delivery system.
