The facility is located in the south end of Halifax on land managed by the Halifax Port Authority (HPA), under the jurisdiction of the federal government. It is operated by Halifax Grain Elevator Limited, a private company, under a lease agreement with the HPA.

Strategically positioned west of the Ocean Terminals, the elevator is connected to Pier 25, Pier 28, and P&H Milling via an integrated system of galleries and conveyors. Pier 25 features a marine leg designed for grain intake, while Pier 28 is equipped with six grain pipes capable of handling up to 50,000 bushels of grain per hour. We handle a variety of grains, offering robust storage solutions across our 365 silos, which are equipped to handle bulk shipments. Founded with the vision to streamline grain handling in Nova Scotia, we began operations to effectively serve both local and international markets. Our strategic location and operational excellence have fueled our growth since inception.
